Some deaths in confinement have been publicly known, such as a senior hospital director who perished in detention after four months in detention.

A prisoner incarcerated with the victim reported that he was led to the courtyard by prison staff immediately preceding his passing, obviously hurt and exposed from the waist down. His remains has not been returned to Gaza.

Other prisoners who lost their lives in Israeli custody remain anonymous. Correctional authorities and defense forces gave analysts with the number of casualties in custody, and limited other details for example the facility where they died, but without the detainees’ identities.
