Nearly twenty-five thousand households in southeastern Queensland found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events impacted the region, generating strong winds reaching over 100 km/h.

Massive Hailstones and Widespread Damage

Locals witnessed large ice chunks measuring up to 7 centimeters in particular locations. Weather authorities confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Utility workers were working to restore power throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews working to address the extensive power failures.

Southern State's Storm Challenges

At one point on the previous day, in excess of 28k power users in the state were lacking electricity.

Meteorological Predictions

Moist weather were forecast to persist along large portions of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coast.

The following day was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with continued severe weather risk anticipated across different parts of both states.

Public health experts warned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
